Winter Holidays At The Landhotel Rosentaler Hof Located in the upper part of the picturesque Rosental lovers of a happy, tranquil and leisurely holiday will feel at home at the Landhotel Rosentaler Hof. There are beautiful walkways along the river Drau, when there is not a lot of snow, you can take Winter walking tours to the nearby Karawanken mountains or along the frozen lake Woerthersee (only 8km away). Whether it be snow shoe walking, having fun curling or skating on the Woerthersee... there are plenty of activities for you to enjoy. Only 2km away from the hotel the cross-country skiing centre is as interesting for beginners as it is for very experienced cross-country skiers. The cross-country centre is a training centre for upcoming young talents in Carinthian cross-country and offers on a network of trails of up to 15km that are ideal for skating and classic. If there is not enough natural snow then the trails are covered with artificial snow up to 6km. Therefore we have been able to use the trails every year since the winter of 2004! In addition the artificial snow trail is lit in the evening 3 times a week. Taster cross-country skiing lessons and training courses with certificated cross-country skiing teachers are also available. Super scenic trails usually with natural snow are to be found in the Bodental valley (approximately 1100m above sea level – about 40 minutes by car from the Hotel) or on the Nature reserve Dobratsch/Villacher Alpe (between 1500 and 2000m above sea level, approximately 40 minutes by car from the Hotel). Skiing enthusiasts can enjoy the sport at the Dreiländereck or the Gerlitzen Alpe. The Dreiländereck (about 30 minutes from the hotel by car) is the ideal ski area for beginners and children. This family ski area offers 17 km piste, with 8 ski lifts. The prices at the Dreiländereck are reasonable.
